Join us for a Fun and Safe Halloween Experience!

Each year, Zion Lutheran Church + School + Child Care hosts a TRUNK OR TREAT  AND  HARVEST FEST -- THIS YEAR'S EVENT IS FROM 3:30 - 6:00 PM on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2017.  

This provides children from Zion Church + School + Child Care -- and the community -- a safe place to go "Trick or Treating".

Zionites decorate their car trunks and truck beds, park in the parking lot and fill them with treats for children. Adults and Children may dress up in costumes. There are also treats at the Harvest Fest in the gymnasium where we host games and activities like musical chairs, corn stalk limbo, harvest crafts and coloring. The evening concludes with our famous pie and cheesecake auction.  

Available food includes Sloppy Joe or Hot Dog plates -- your choice for only $2.00 a plate!

We only have a few simple rules to follow.
  • Family friendly costumes and trunks decorations.
  • All candy must be factory sealed.
  • You cannot be a "Trunker" without pre-registering.
This is a great way for our Church + School + Child Care family to interact and get to know each other! In order to make this happen.

ALL members are invited; you do NOT have to have children or grandchildren to be involved. This is a fun thing for anyone, to simply pass out candy and see all the cute kiddos from church, school and child care dressed up in their costumes. Plus the more trunks and cars we have, the more fun it is for the kids, and the more candy there is for the parents


A contest will be held for the best dressed car!

Car owners must complete the attached form to participate. Only those who have properly registered their vehicles will be allowed to participate at this event.

  • All participants should be prepared for at least 50+ children to visit their vehicle.
  • All candy must be pre-packaged and unopened to distribute at the event.
  • For those not registering but wishing to help out, candy donations are welcome and appreciated.
  • Registered vehicles may arrive at the Zion Lutheran Church+School+Child Care parking lot for check-in beginning at 2:30 PM.
  • All trunks must be decorated by 3:30 PM and all vehicles arriving after this time will not be able to participate.

The event begins at 3:30 PM. For safety purposes, all participating vehicles must stay at the event until the event ends at 4:30 PM. Registration forms must be completed and returned to the school or child care office by the Wednesday beforehand.

Upon arrival, you will directed where to park and set-up your vehicle. All registered vehicles will receive a number that must be attached to their trunk for judging. Vehicles will be judged on presentation and creativity. Props and participants in costume will be considered. Vehicles must be decorated by 3:30 PM and judging will take place from 3:30-4:30 PM.  Winners will be announced at the Harvest Fest in the Gymnasium around 6:00 PM.
